BUDGET & FINANCE COMMITTEE 

WILL HOLD A WORKSHOP 

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN PURSUANT TO 

§§15.2-1417,1418 AND §2.2-3707 OF THE CODE OF VIRGINIA 

AND §§31.17,18 OF THE TOWN CODE. 

 

The workshop will be held at the Town Office, located at 

235 Steamboat Road, Irvington on Tuesday April 23, 2019 at 6:00 PM.  

 

The purpose of the workshop is to discuss 1) Lancaster County Collection Services Agreement, 2) Effect of Real Estate Reassessment, 3) Annual practice of adopting taxes levied and fees imposed by Town and 3) FY19/20 proposed budget.

 

Note:  The public is invited to attend and observe council, mayor and staff discussions about the agenda items.  The public will have the opportunity to discuss these issues on May 9, June 6, and June 13 at other meetings.

WILL HOLD A SPECIAL CALLED MEETING

ON THURSDAY, FEBRURY 14, 2019 AT 5:30 PM

 

 

Per the request of Mayor Ransone, a SPECIAL CALLED MEETING has been called for Thursday, February 14, 2019 starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Irvington Town Office.

 

The Special meeting is called under Town Code Section 31.17.  

It will be a regular meeting where the council may vote to go into closed session to discuss personnel matters under 2.2-3711A1 and legal advice under 2.2-3711A7, 

consultation with Town Attorney regarding specific legal matters requiring the 

provision of legal advice pertaining to,

"(1) 167 Chase's Cove Lane, Chesapeake Bay Act Violation.

(2) Closed Session:  Section 2.2-3711(A)(1) Personnel Matters - Discussion, consideration, and assignment of duties to employees of the public body."

Notice is hereby given that the Irvington Town Council will hold a public hearing at the Irvington Town Hall on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at 6:15 p.m. and will conclude upon the calling to order of the regular monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. The purpose of the public hearing is to hear public views about the following matter:

 

Proposed Amendment to the Town Code, Zoning Chapter.  Council proposes to amend the Town Code by repealing Town Code §151.01 which incorporates the Comprehensive Plan.  This topic is placed on the public hearing agenda pursuant to VA Code Ann.

On Tuesday, November 20, 2018 the Town of Irvington commons development committee will hold a Town Hall meeting for the purpose of presenting to the public recommendations for the Town Commons.  The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the Irvington Baptist Church and will conclude upon the calling to order of the public hearing at 6:30 p.m. 

 

Notice is hereby given that the Irvington Town Council will hold a public hearing at the Irvington Baptist Church on Tuesday November 20, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. to hear public views about the following matters:

 

  1. Proposed Amendments to the Town of Irvington Town Charter.  Proposed amendments are housekeeping in nature, in the form of updates or clarifications to the Charter to reflect current law and practice.  Complete text of the proposed amendments is available in the Town Office.  This topic is placed on the public hearing agenda pursuant to VA Code Ann. § 15.2-202. Individuals requiring additional information or clarification may contact Roy C. Kime, Town Manager, (804) 438.6230.

 

  1. Proposed Amendments to the Town Code, Zoning Chapter. Proposed amendments are to Town Code §§ 154.085 (B-1 Statement of Intent), and 154.086 (B-1 Use Regulations) and are in the form of additions, deletions and modifications to permitted uses and regulations as part of a regular review of the Zoning Ordinance.  The changes relate to the requirements for the, and B-1 District in particular, and a prohibition of specific uses in the B-1 District.  This topic is placed on the public hearing agenda pursuant to VA Code Ann. § 15.2-2204. Complete text of the proposed changes is available in the Town Office.  Individuals requiring additional information or clarification may contact Roy C. The regular monthly meeting of the Irvington Town Council scheduled

for September 13, 2018, which was not held as scheduled due to public

safety concerns from Hurricane Florence, will be combined with the

regular monthly meeting scheduled to be held on Thursday, October 11,

2018 at 6:30 in the town office; 235 Steamboat Road.

All agenda items will be carried over to the October meeting.

 The Acting Mayor in conjunction with the Town Clerk

have determined that in the interest of public safety

the regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Irvington

scheduled to be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2018

will not be held as scheduled.  The meeting will be continued until a later date

and that date is yet to be determined.  Notice of the date of the continued meeting will be posted as required.
